Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:10-11

Valentine Mug Swap

{DW here} As you read this post, you might wonder what a Valentine's Day Mug Swap has to do with our shop or mission here at The Orange Bird. Well, having a presence online opens up a whole new world. We have discovered a community of people who create beautiful things, love the Lord, and want to make the world a better place.

Part of what we love about our online community is the opportunity to come into contact with people you wouldn't have the opportunity to meet in real life. We love blogs and instagram! The inspiration and positiveness that comes from the folks we follow is really encouraging. We would love for you to check out our Facebook page or come over and follow us on instagram. I am @unconventionaldoctorswife and Birdie is @rbirdie6 and while you are there, check out our shop hashtag #TheOrangeBirdShop for fun behind the scene pics of our shop!

Birdie and I decided to participate in a Valentine's Day Mug Swap organized by the lovely gals from Rags To Stitches and Sew Caroline. My swap partner turned out to be the fabulous Frances! She is young, gorgeous and has a corgi named Napoleon, which inspired my choice of mug for her! I searched high and low on the internet to find just the right one!

Frances sent me the happiest box of goodies! She really outdid herself! I loooved it all! Thank you so much, Frances! I loved reading your blog (and I still like you even though your team handed my Jayhawks an ugly loss on the basketball court! ;)

Birdie Here!,

I'm starting to get the swing of cyber- networking and was tickled to have the oppotunity to connect through Rags-To-Stitches and Sew Caroline's Valentine Mug Swap.

I'm a planner, so walking through the steps of getting to know my partner (who is amazing, you should check her out over at www.amygigglesdesigns.com , she's a beauty-full, young chick with nifty ideas!), deciding what goodies to create just for her, getting her happy mail on it's way, and remembering to take pictures of the whole event was simply a matter of...planning!

Once that was finished, I kinda put it out of my mind. I had gained some new perspective and met some new folks, sent a little "blessing" down the road to someone else...my plans were complete.

And then I recieved my own "blessing"

What's not to love????

Lots of possibilities here, not to mention the promise of a hot beverage and bite of chocolate!

Thank you for the oppotunity to meet new people and to both share and receive blessings!
