Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:10-11

An Old House {Fit for a Goat} & Mercy's New Home

The women in the James 1:27 project are amazing. They have been through so much trauma on this earth... remember, the project is about helping widows and orphans. These women have lost loved ones, health, important things (like houses), etc. but they have found hope, thanks to the James 1:27 project. Let us tell you a true story...

There is a little girl named Mercy. She lives with her grandmother because her parents are gone. Mercy became a part of the James 1:27 project. She was sponsored by some friends of ours who send money, through the project, every month so that she can have her basic needs met. That support ensured that she had a school uniform, food and medical attention when she needed it, but the James project workers knew there was a big problem for Mercy and her grandmother that needed addressing...their mud home was falling down around them.

The American branch of the James 1:27 Project raised money to buy the supplies to build a home for them. The supplies were purchased and delivered to their property but there was another big problem...there was no one to actually assemble the house. The project is full of widows. There weren't a lot of willing men around to do the hard labor. So, there it sat, a brand new house, in pieces.

The women in the area, who all live in need, pulled together and decided that they were not going to just let that house sit there in pieces! They were going to build it themselves, for Mercy and her grandmother, even though they had no previous house building experience. There was no jealousy over one family getting a new house. There was just teamwork and they got it done!

When it was completed, Meshach and his pastor Justus came and dedicated the home...

Here is what Meshach wrote about it in his letter to the James 1:27 folks here in America...

Blessings to you in Jesus Name. We pray and trust that you are well and blessed. We are well and we thank God. We are glad and praise God as we send this mail. We praise God that Mercy's house is complete and that they are now  living in.We met there last Friday with the group and Justus and dedicated the house for their use and stay. We had a small party at Mercy's place and we spend time sharing Christ's love. The group sincerely thanked you and other sponsors. One elderly grandmum (Mumo Grand mum) thanked the project very much since her grand son was sick and could access good medical attention and that was now  well. Mercy grand mother was overwhelmed with joy and shed tears as she thanked the James 1:27 project. She also said that this year she has witnessed God's favor and especially through James 1:27 project. Mercy was at school and joined us in the afternoon and was very happy.

 As for the old house...

we are happy to report that it has a new resident...

We have been so moved by the reports of the women involved in the James 1:27 Project!! They are strong women who WANT to help themselves!! They are grateful for the hand up and, in turn, are eager to work and share their blessings with others! We will be sharing more about these incredible women in the future!

Now, please check out our shop! All the profits are going to buy the supplies to build a house (like Mercy's) for Francesca and her family!
