Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:10-11

About Love.

God is teaching us some things about this life. He is teaching us that many are the distractions of this world. Though we live with much blessing here in America, it comes with a calling...to use those resources to show God's love and care to others. Scripture talks about the utter uselessness of doing good things and giving good things without love.

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 {New International Version (NIV)}
1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Lord, our prayer is that we would help James 1:27 build a house for Francesca because it is a reflection of your great love for her. May our efforts be bigger than just a physical structure that will fail as the years go on, Abba, please let it be raised as a symbol, an example of the great lengths that you are willing to go to show your children your love. From something like using two women half way around the world to help build a house to something so unfathomable as sacrificing your son in our place to pay for our sins...thank you for your great love. Amen.
